ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

This adorable, oval antique locket is embellished with translucent powder blue enamel over a machine engraved background (aka guilloche enamel), giving the pendant a holographic shimmer. The locket is bordered with white enamel and centered with a diminutive seed pearl framed in gold. Designed and manufactured in the United States at the turn-of-the-last century by Carter, Gough & Company, Newark, NJ. The back is personalized with the a script monogram "MTG". Measuring 3/4" x 1/2" the locket comes with a 14k yellow gold antique chain measuring 15 3/4" in length. Positively precious in pristine condition!

About Edwardian Jewelry

Edwardians took the dark beauty of Victorian jewelry and dyed it platinum blonde. Light and airy filigree, worked with intricate millegrain and detailed designs in that durable metal, was liberally set with the “white” stones—pearls and diamonds chief among them.
