Splendid Georgian early gold-fill or pincbeck chatelaine with a richly scrolled and foliate frame surrounding classical themes in repousse. This ornate chatelaine contains the necessities for a prestigious Georgian head of household, including a sewing accessories, pocket knife and pencil. All original and perfectly preserved. According to the ILLUSTRATED DICTIONARY OF JEWELRY, this chatelaine is of French or English origin circa 1740-1760.
