This lovely silver over 9 karat rose gold Victorian butterfly in red, white and blue is patriotic by nature. The rubies have a slight red wine tinge which suggests their Siamese origin, and the sapphires appear to be no less than Kashmirs. The pearls, of course, are natural. The original pin mechanism comes off to allow the piece to be worn comfortably as a pendant. Circa 1880.
