Vintage Georg Jensen Gold and Cultured Pearl Brooch #50-3-2229

This sumptuous clam shell motif brooch was designed by Nanna and Jorgen Ditzel and manufactured by the Georg Jensen Company during the 1960s. The brooch is sculpted in 18 karat yellow gold, having a pleasing warm under tone, and is a wonderful example of the Danish modernist interpretation of a classic design. Cradled into one side of the brooch is a white cultured pearl measuring approximately 7.00 mm. The piece is stamped Georg Jensen, 750, 18K, and with the makers mark NJ which is attributed to Nanna and Jorgen Ditzel.
