An exquisite Edwardian platinum over gold necklace is centered with three bezel set gems. The center gem is a synthetic ruby which is the color of the most revered blood red rubies. Rubies were first synthesized in 1885! The lozenge shaped plaque is further set with both European and rose cut diamonds with fine milgrain and pierced details. Circa 1900. The large pendant drops from a platinum and natural pearl chain which measures 26 inches long.
