ABOUT THIS BROOCH

This cool and artsy Mid-Century brooch--by the inimitable San Francisco-based jeweler of yore Marsh & Co--is influenced by nature and created in blackened steel and 18 karat white gold. A single luminous cultured pearl and icy white and sparkling round brilliant cut diamonds add beautiful detail and striking contrast. As a testament to the uncompromising work ethics of the artisans of yesteryear, the reverse of the brooch is thoroughly hand engraved and millegrained. This rare and collectible wearable work of art measures just over 2 inches high by 1 3/4 inches wide. This is an almost exact duplicate of our #50-1-4500, except that the leaf is oriented in the opposite direction (facing right), the pearl is larger, and the steel is blacker.

About Mid-Century Jewelry

Mid-Century jewelers gave the Victorians a run for their money when it came to variety—with the added bonus of big, bold gems in every shape, size, and color. Themes of previous eras were made fabulous enough to match the optimism of the post-war world. Transitional pieces bridged the gap between the first and second half of the 20th century.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
