Rare and collectible, this Russian, 14k rose gold, circular locket features a riveted star embellished with bead-set seed pearls. The locket opens to reveal a hand painted map of Africa under glass. The hallmarking indicates that it was designed in the late 1800's in Russia. The locket measures approximately 7/8" round. The locket is suspended from a traditional rose gold rope chain measuring approximately 20" in length. .
