A rare and colorful find - a big, round, grape-flavored gum drop - otherwise known as a cabochon amethyst - glows from atop an exemplary platinum and diamond mounting, circa 1900. The deep purple gemstone is embellished all around with glittering European-cut and single-cut diamonds set into finely pierced and milgrained open scrollwork. The under gallery continues the scrolled motif with hand engraving finishing the upper ring shank. A unique and sublime original Edwardian just-for-fun ring. The top measures 5/8 inch across.
Most rings can be sized up or down one size unless noted and sometimes more.
