Victorian 10.00 Carat Sapphire and Diamond Ring

This fabulous, lavish and large scale (one-inch by 7/8 inch!) late-nineteenth century sapphire ring features a faceted oval 10.00 carat sapphire, of old Ceylon origin, with a bright and shining medium-light blue color. The sapphire is surrounded by twelve sparkling old mine cushion-cut diamonds, totaling five carats, set in classic Victorian coronet settings. While the top of the ring is one hundred percent original, the under gallery and ring shank were evidently replaced at a later date. A smashing, showstopping antique sapphire and diamond WOW! ring.!
