This magnificent and sentimental Victorian mourning necklace centers on an angelic presence holding aloft a dove of peace, artfully hand carved in a glorious black & white hardstone cameo. The 20-inch necklace is composed of striking geometric links each studded with seed pearl-centered rose gold stars. The pendant, plus the seed pearl-studded loop, measures 2 1/2 inches and houses a fancifully monogrammed locket on the reverse which reads - "Oct. 3rd 1881". A rare, dramatically beautiful and pristine antique necklace.
