Antique Platinum and Diamond Lavaliere

The geometric symmetry of this highly distinctive and dazzling necklace suggests early-Art Deco, however, the delicacy of the workmanship leads one to believe that it was produced during the first or second decade of the twentieth century - the preceding Edwardian period. Three 'compass-set' diamonds dangle below a sleekly tapered centerpiece comprised of five graduated, diamond-set bow-tie motifs, which in turn is surmounted by a fourth compass-set diamond. This singular and sensational platinum and diamond necklace measures just shy of 2 inches long and suspends from a 16" platinum chain.
