Shreve & Co. Demantoid and Diamond Art Nouveau Locket

An exotic and exemplary antique locket, circa 1900, from San Francisco's renowned jeweler - Shreve & Company. This rare and wonderful jewel is very finely handcrafted with graceful textured gold pierced work overlaying red guilloche enamel. The sinewy foliate motif is dotted with three chartreuse green demantoid garnets and four sparkling European-cut diamonds. This unique and splendid keepsake measures 1 3/8 inches by just shy of 1 inch across. A lightly engraved fanciful 'S' adorns the back.
