Blue-gray agate from the renowned Montrose region are inlaid into this sizable (2 1/8 inch across) open circle brooch hailing from late-19th century Scotland. The four round cabochons, two golden, and two dark plum-purple are actually glass. The central X motif section is raised inside the donut shape surround. Textural hand engraving provides the finishing touch.
