An armlet (or "armilla") is a bracelet that is worn on the biceps (upper arm muscle). They were a common type of jewelry in ancient times. Armlets have been found in Etruscan tombs and were given to soldiers of the Roman Empire to be worn as a military decoration. This type of bracelet was popular during the neoclassical era.
