"Love letter" (from French: sweet letter) , a term introduced in the English language by William Makepeace Thackeray in his novel "Vanity Fair" - 1848. It is a term to describe a flower bouquet with an underlaying message. It was also used in Victorian jewelry through depictions of flowers.
