Image courtesy of Alberto Scarani Chasing is a process whereby the front surface of a metal object is decorated by indenting the metal without cutting or engraving the surface. The metal is usually secured in pitch poured into a bowl. A hammer is used to strike a chasing tool thereby indenting the metal.
