Pate de Verre

Paté de verre is a French term which literally means "glass paste". Ground glass, which could be colored by pigments, is poured in a mold and fused into a desired shape. It was first applied by ancient Greeks and the art revived in the 19th century. This technique is very closely related to enameling.
