Talk:Shah Jehan Table-Cut

Pictures

Alain: This diamond really needs pictures. I especially would like to include the painting that hangs in the V&A museum of Shah Jehan holding the diamond. At the risk of sounding stupid, I just don't understand how we get permission to use the pictures. I've done quite a bit of surfing looking for copyright-free images to use and have not found anything I like for any of my stories. The Associated Press archive has some great ones, but they charge for their use. This week the Wittlesbach was on every news-site and in every paper with great pix... how do I get permission to use them? I really don't think they want to pay me to bumble around looking for what I need. What do you suggest? Can someone be in charge of finding pictures and getting permission? It doesn't seem like a good use of my time until someone can put me on the fast track of how to accomplish this. Let me know what you think.

Mary

Mary, I've looked into that a while back when I needed an image from the V&A Museum.

You credit them as "© Trustees Victoria & Albert Museum, London" while you upload and in the image description later when you place it in an article. I have added an image by Christie's of the Wittelsbach last week. Look at how they want to be credited.
