An armlet (or “armilla”) is a bracelet that is designed to be worn on the upper arm or bicep (upper arm muscle). They have been a common jewelry form since ancient times in many civilizations. Armlets have been found in Etruscan tombs and were given to soldiers of the Roman Empire to be worn as a military decorations. This type of bracelet was also popular during the neoclassical era and continues to enjoy limited popularity into the 21st century.
