Celtic refers to a tribe of people from the bronze age that was spread over Europe. Its modern-day descendants are now mainly found in Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Their artifacts are of typical, almost medieval, design and there was great interest in this style in the 19th century as a Celtic revival, especially by the artists of the Arts and Crafts movement.
