Emerald Cut

Emerald Cut
Emerald Cut Diamond with Crown and Pavilion Diagrams.

The emerald cut is a rectangular step-cut design which means it has horizontal facets which differ in angles of inclination. Used for diamonds it is also frequently used for colored stones that crystallize in long prismatic shapes and which favor a long rectangular design. Examples of such stones include Tourmaline and Beryl, of which the green variety Emerald has been used to name the cut.
