Objets de vertu (or objects of virtu or objects of vertu) are small luxury objects that are not termed jewelry in the strictest sense of the word. (Jewelry refers to objects designed as adornment to be worn on the person.) Objets de Vertu include minaudieres, cigarette cases, golden lighters and other luxury items made from precious metals and/or gemstones often carried in a pocket or a purse.
