Pebble jewelry refers to jewelry set with polished gemstones found in Scotland. Polished agate and granite were cut into shapes and set in mosaic patterns in silver (occasionally gold) jewelry, often using many colors in one piece. It came into fashion after Queen Victoria bought the Balmoral Castle estate in 1848.

This is a unique 14 karat yellow gold dimensional double row Scottish bracelet with a heart shaped safety. Included are varieties of jasper, moss agate, banded agate and Cairngorm. Image courtesy of Lang Antiques
