Pertabghar is an Indian enamel technique where a thick layer of, hot, green paste was applied to a golden, open-worked surface and pressed in the openings. This type of decoration technique emerged in India around 1870 (although it was also practiced in Ireland during the 6th to 8th century, known as marquetry enamel).
