ABOUT THIS BROOCH
This intriguing early-Victorian brooch, crafted in 18 karat yellow gold, centers on a shimmering, iridescent, multi-color round opal which is magnificently presented in an elaborate repousse frame highlighted with with black and white enamel. The enamel is well worn throughout which, along with the patinated 18 karat gold, adds warmth and age to this one hundred-and-fifty-year old jewel. The back was evidently altered many years ago. 1 1/2 inches wide by 1 1/4 inch high.
