ABOUT THIS BROOCH

An exemplary treasure from the pinnacle of the Art Deco era. This magnificent bow tie pin from the early-to-mid 1920s displays all of the characteristics which distinguishes Deco jewelry: sophisticated, geometric style, impeccable craftsmanship and top quality materials. The central lozenge shape diamond weighs 1.00 carat and is graded H color, VS2 clarity. The dimensional ribbons of the bow are studded with sparkling European-cut diamonds and 38 contrasting black onyx calibre arranged in a pattern which may have been inspired from Navajo Indian blanket and basket designs - an acknowledged influence in some Deco artworks. A truly wonderful, wearable and collectible jewel.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
