ABOUT THIS BROOCH

Rare and ravishing, this Art Deco dazzler is a breathtaking combination of dress clips and a brooch. Bouquets of bright red carved rubies blossom from each end of the geometrically styled centerpiece[s] sparkling with an artfully arranged array of bright-white transitional European-cut/round brilliant-cut and baguette diamonds. Although inexplicably unsigned, the character and quality of this exceptional Jazz Age jewel - circa 1930 - rivals those of the most illustrious French and American fine jewelry houses. It is more than likely from the Chicagoan/Parisian joint venture of the renowned jeweler and joiallier - Trabert & Hoeffer, Mauboussin (we acquired it along with bracelet # 40-1-10518). Equally stunning when worn as a pair of dress clips or as a single brooch. Just shy of 2 1/2 inches by 7/8 inch.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
