ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

Original Art Deco delicacies don't come any sweeter than this luscious strawberry necklace dating from the zenith of the design period - circa 1925. Brilliantly designed and hand-fabricated in platinum, this unique and magnifique creation probably originates from one of the loftiest jewelers of the time, however, it is mysteriously unsigned (possibly because there's no place for it?). Measuring just shy of 2 inches long, this three-dimensional work of wearable art begins with a collet-set diamond leading to a tiny coral bead, a buff-cut emerald leaf, a larger coral bead, an inverted cone of tulip-set diamonds, a full crown of buff-cut emerald leaves, all culminating in a juicy vine-ripened strawberry carved in bright red coral. As fine and fabulous a collectable Jazz Age jewel as they come.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
