A three-dimensional sculpture of St. George slaying the dragon rendered in colorful enamel over 9 karat gold on a silver chain. This intriguingly delightful necklace is most likely of nineteenth-century central European origin. Because of the large percentage of silver alloy the gold is pale, almost white. Imitation pearls accent the chain above St. George, however, the drop is a freshwater pearl. The enamel condition is not perfect but these classic St. George slaying the dragon pieces rarely are.
