ABOUT THIS RING
Direct from the roaring '20s (maybe with a stop or two in between), this geometric take on a classic Art Deco dinner ring, measuring 3/4 inch long, incorporates an impressive blend of design elements to embellish the .35 carat octagonal-set European-cut diamond center stone, including a glittering array of small European-cut diamonds, decorative piercing, hand engraving and most striking of all, slender crisscross ribbons of royal blue calibre synthetic* sapphires (original to the piece and the period). Total diamond weight, .68 carat. Currently ring size 6. *Back in the day, circa 1920s-30s, due to their color consistency and flawless clarity, synthetic sapphires were considered a modern improvement over their natural counterparts, their virtually undetectable differences discernible only with a microscope.
