ABOUT THIS JEWELRY

An intriguing and enchanting gemstone, a 15.00 carat pear-shaped Australian black opal, casts a deep electric cobalt blue hue, whilst crowned by a tiara composed of five icy-white and sparkling, high-quality pear-shaped diamonds (together weighing 1.35 carats), in this majestic Mid-Century vintage jewel. Designed by none other than Beverly Hills' jeweler to the stars of Golden Age Hollywood--William Ruser (the former Rodeo Drive location is now home to Van Cleef & Arpels)--this entrancing adornment, in fact, comes from the estate of a renowned A-list Hollywood actor (only to be revealed upon purchase). Hand fabricated in platinum, it is wearable as both a pendant and brooch and measures 1 1/4 inches by 3/4 inch. The newer chain measures 16 inches.

About Mid-Century Jewelry

Mid-Century jewelers gave the Victorians a run for their money when it came to variety—with the added bonus of big, bold gems in every shape, size, and color. Themes of previous eras were made fabulous enough to match the optimism of the post-war world. Transitional pieces bridged the gap between the first and second half of the 20th century.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
