ABOUT THIS BROOCH

This seriously stunning and majestic antique jewel is fit for a queen or, at the very least, a princess. A sparkling crown bejeweled with diamonds, emeralds, and rubies surmounts three hinged belts (perhaps representing the British order of chivalry, the Order of the Garter) that culminate in a diamond fleur-de-lys, all intended to support the lapel watch or pendant of your choice. We show it here with a Victorian lady's lapel watch (item 60-1-719, for separate purchase), decorated with a diamond-set swan applique and featuring a C.H. Meylan movement. Choose this one or another to create a lovely match. Total diamond weight - 1.75 carats, total gemstone weight - .70 carat. Hand fabricated in silver over 18K gold. Distinctive and versatile, the belts on the piece detach so that the crown can be worn alone as a brooch.

About Victorian Jewelry

The eclectic Victorians didn’t limit themselves when it came to motifs and themesβ€”if it struck their fancy, they turned it into jewelry. Sweet and sentimental with a distinct romantic streak, Victorian gems expanded upon their Georgian predecessors. The array of styles that blossomed (sometimes quite literally) during this era endure to this day.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones toΒ loosenΒ over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one!Β As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
