A grand and gorgeous deep purple faceted amethyst with a buff-cut table (just slightly curved) is presented in a glowing frame of natural pearls in this extravagant Victorian brooch measuring 1 and 5/8 inches wide by 1 and 3/8 inches high. A retractable bail on the back horizontal side allows for the pin to be worn also as a pendant. Circa 1890.
