Labradorite is a mineral species of the plagioclase series of the feldspar group. Faceted colors are orange, yellow, colorless, and red. A schiller (play-of-color) effect is labradorite’s most desirable attribute for jewelry and specimens exhibiting this phenomenon are usually cut en cabochon or carved. Mining locations include Canada (Labrador), Finland, Norway, Madagascar, and Russia.
