Oligoclase is a mineral species of the plagioclase series of the feldspar group. Sunstone is the only variety used in jewelry. Sunstone’s color comes from red, orange, or green platy crystals. Faceted and cabochon examples can be found in jewelry. Metamorphic and igneous sources yield specimens in Norway, the U.S., India, Russia, and Canada.
