ABOUT THIS RING

Where do we start? This extraordinarily lovely and masterfully crafted Art Deco jewel by Dorst & Co.* is a wearable treasure. A brilliant, sparkling white European-cut diamond, accompanied by a GIA Grading Report stating: F color - VVS2 clarity, crowns a mounting thoroughly embellished with exceptional hand engraving and hand piercing. Two single-cut diamonds and a quintet of calibre sapphires adorn the north and south sides of the gallery, while a stylized wheat pattern and graceful pierced curves add delightful detail to the elegant shoulders. Die struck and rendered in gleaming platinum. A vintage beauty. Total diamond weight, .85 carat. Currently ring size 6 1/4. *Thought to have been established in 1888 as Jonas, Dorst & Co., the business was later styled The Dorst Company, and by c.1940 as the Dorst Jewelery Co. In 1983 the business was acquired by the brothers, William and Douglas Turnbull and in 1995 the company was renamed as The John Gray Awards Company.

How to Pair Your Wedding Band

You found your ideal, beautiful, one-of-a-kind antique or vintage engagement ring… and then realized that you need a wedding band to go with it. Pairing the two can be tricky, since vintage engagement rings rarely come with matching bands, and many modern bands don’t accommodate vintage shapes and designs. So we created a line of vintage-style wedding bands, modeled after original pieces from our collection.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
