Art Deco Diamond Sapphire Platinum Dinner Ring
Measuring just over 3/4 inch, this relatively smallish, but striking, elongated Art Deco dinner ring, hand fabricated in platinum - circa 1920s-30s, glitters with 3 central old mine-cut diamonds and a a pair of small single-cut diamonds, all accented with 4 royal blue *synthetic sapphires. Decorative piercing, delicate milgraining, and elaborate hand engraving add the finishing flourishes to this original Jazz Age jewel. Currently ring size 4 1/2. *Back in the day, circa 1920s-30s, due to their color consistency and flawless clarity, synthetic sapphires were considered a modern improvement over their natural counterparts; besides the fact that the subtle differences are only detectable with a microscope.
