ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

We rarely offer jewels that feature synthetic center stones, however, besides being undetectable without a microscope and gemological expertise, the enchanting stone in this original Art Deco delicacy is utterly irresistible. A gorgeous 'sugarloaf' cabochon synthetic* sapphire, weighing 4.50 carats, casts a gorgeous cornflower blue glow from within a fabulous frame sparkling with bright-white diamonds bordered all around the edge with high-table scissor-cut calibre synthetic sapphires. This stunning Jazz Age jewel suspends from a rare and original diamond-set platinum chain measuring 18 1/2 inches. *Back in the day, circa 1920s-30s, due to their color consistency and flawless clarity, synthetic sapphires were considered a modern improvement over their natural counterparts. Btw, if the sapphire was natural the selling price would be at least double/triple.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
