ABOUT THIS RING
By Jones and Woodland, the predecessor of Krementz, comes this exotic and unusual scarab ring crowned with a turquoise-colored carved scarab. The artfully sculpted shoulders depict ancient Egyptian mother goddess Mut in her vulture headdress. It took more than a few black belt gemologists to identify the scarab as an early plastic-like composite of some type. Circa 1900-1910. 14K yellow gold; 13/16 inch; ring size 5 1/2.
