Hand fabricated in platinum over 14K yellow gold, this classic Edwardian (early-20th-century) jewel highlights a glowing oval white opal suffused with a kaleidoscopic play of electric pastel orange, green and violet colored flashes. The enchanting gemstone centers a navette-shaped frame composed of 16 small sparkling white European-cut diamonds together weighing 1.00 carat. Hand engraved fan motif shoulders add the finishing touch to this classic jewel. 13/16 inch. Currently ring size 5 1/2. Condition Note: Opal shows minor crazing.

About Edwardian Jewelry

Edwardians took the dark beauty of Victorian jewelry and dyed it platinum blonde. Light and airy filigree, worked with intricate millegrain and detailed designs in that durable metal, was liberally set with the “white” stones—pearls and diamonds chief among them.
