ABOUT THIS JEWELRY

"The times they are a-changin.'" So sang Bob Dylan in 1964 and French jewelry designer, Jean Dinh Van*, agreed. Working for the House of Cartier during the1960s, he designed bold, contemporary pieces that reflected the Minimalism movement of the era. These sleek double-sided cufflinks exemplify that aesthetic. Rendered in 18K gold, their slightly domed geometric square shape is softened by rounded corners and a gleaming satin finish. Signed Cartier, Dinh Van. They measure 3/4 inch. * After spending 10 years producing designs for the famous House of Cartier, he started his own company in 1967. In the years that followed, his revolutionary styles caught on quickly and launched him to the forefront of the jewelry and fashion world. Known for a daring and free-spirited aesthetic, his designs are both timeless and modern. Both his original vintage works and contemporary pieces continue to delight jewelry lovers in the current day!

About Mid-Century Jewelry

Mid-Century jewelers gave the Victorians a run for their money when it came to variety—with the added bonus of big, bold gems in every shape, size, and color. Themes of previous eras were made fabulous enough to match the optimism of the post-war world. Transitional pieces bridged the gap between the first and second half of the 20th century.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
