Pair of Early-Victorian Diamond and Colored Stone Hand Brooches
You have to hand it to those wild and whimsical Victorians for creating this marvelous pair of bejeweled, braceleted and cuffed hands, each of which is daintily presenting a fanciful foliate token. The hands, which most likely, originally served as necklace clasps, are aglitter with closely-set rose-cut diamonds; the bracelets, cuffs and leaves are composed of rose-cuts, emeralds and rubies. A rare, wonderful and very amusing pair of antique jewels - circa 1830-40. We estimate about 2.35 carat total diamond weight. 1 11/16 inch by 1/2 inch.
