Antique French Diamond Salamander Pin
$2,950.00
One definition of a salamander is: a mythical animal having the power to endure fire without harm. This diminutive ruby-eyed amphibian, hailing from the Victorian era (but of French origin - circa 1890), creates its own fire. Shimmering with 32 rose-cut diamonds, he has positioned himself in a graceful serpentine curve, ready to add some sparkle--and a little whimsy--to your ensemble. Total diamond weight, .65 carat. Hand engraved and hand fabricated in silver over 18K gold, it measures 1 1/2 inches by 1/2 inch. French marks on pin clasp.
