ABOUT THIS BROOCH

The beauty of a jabot pin is that only the decorative ends are seen, allowing the fabric to show in between, and the ends on this elegant Art Deco version are small works of art. Masterfully hand fabricated in platinum, an exquisite pierced design is set with an array of glittering diamonds, the larger top end accented by an elongated hexagonal (or double-bullet) shaped stone and the smaller end by a bullet-shaped diamond. A stepped composition of black onyx and green jadeite cabochons add a dash of fabulous color. Whether you pin this intriguing jewel on your jean jacket or on your favorite party dress, the effect is utterly striking--be ready to talk about it. Circa 1925, probably French. Total diamond weight, 2.04 carats. In platinum, it measures 1 1/2 inches long.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
