Edwardian Swallow and Crescent Pin
A glittering, graceful swallow has made its way to the moon. In this Edwardian-era jewel, a lithe and lovely bird--with subtly engraved wing tips and a garnet eye--alights on a crescent moon shimmering with 18 single-cut diamonds. In days gone by, swallows were a romantic symbol of faithfulness, expressing the desire for a loved one to return home safely. Perfectly charming, and--as is often the case with jewelry from this period-- the reverse side is almost as lovely as the front. Total diamond weight, 1.50 carats. Hand fabricated in platinum over 18K gold.
