ABOUT THIS BROOCH

A glorious constellation of colors and shapes, this delightful Victorian Retrospective mid-century brooch (from Portugal according to the hallmarks) is sure to make you smile. Sparkling at its center, in a starburst-like setting, is a bright and lively European cut diamond encircled by lustrous seed pearls and vivid bright blue turquoise cabochons. Surrounding this striking assemblage are gleaming, richly hued faceted oval citrines orbited by tiny twinkling rose-cut versions of the center star and finely crafted open scrollwork. A visual delight! Hand fabricated in silver over 18K gold, with a 14k chain that loops into the pin mechanism. Measures 1 9/16 in diameter.

About Mid-Century Jewelry

Mid-Century jewelers gave the Victorians a run for their money when it came to variety—with the added bonus of big, bold gems in every shape, size, and color. Themes of previous eras were made fabulous enough to match the optimism of the post-war world. Transitional pieces bridged the gap between the first and second half of the 20th century.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
