Pair Of Edwardian Demantoid Garnet and Diamond Pheasant Brooches by William Scheer
This extremely fine feathered and fabulous Edwardian pair of ruby-eyed pheasants (husband and wife!), dating back to the turn-of-the-last-century, boasts gorgeous plumes composed of bright vibrant apple green demantoid garnets from the Ural Mountains of Russia contrasted with bright-white and sparkling European-cut diamonds (note the reverse coloration between the two). Artfully hand fabricated in platinum over 18K yellow gold, they measures 2 3/8 inches from beak to tail. Starla, our intrepid in-house gemologist and researcher discovered the original July 17,1894 patented design by William Scheer. Although this very happy couple have been together all their lives, if you insist we will sell them separately for $11750 each.
