ABOUT THIS RING

An amalgam of geometric Art Deco (1920s-30s) and sculptural Retro (1940s) aesthetics artfully coalesce in this striking and distinctively stunning jewel rendered in glorious blue (sapphire) and white (diamonds and palladium*). A faceted oval sapphire, weighing 2.05 carats (accompanied by a gemological report from Stone Group Laboratory stating: Natural, No Indications of Thermal Enhancement, Thailand origin), centers a sparkling pavé-set diamond concave top dramatically bordered on each side with trios of seamlessly-set calibre sapphires. For a finishing touch, a pair of small round diamonds adorn each side of the gallery, all supported by sleek flared shoulders. A singular and spectacular vintage beauty. Currently ring size 6.

*Because platinum was required as a strategic metal during WWII, palladium, it's look-alike cousin--and more peaceful precious metal!--was sometimes used instead.

About Retro Jewelry

Hollywood glam got creative during the war era, when strategic factors forced jewelers to do without certain materials. Rather than scale back, they took the streamlined shapes of the Art Deco and went big, bold, and gold with them! Retro power pieces segued from the Jazz Age to the Fabulous Fifties, creating many motifs of vintage jewelry along the way.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
