ABOUT THIS ACCESSORY

You don't have to be an expert in horology to appreciate this remarkable table clock from none other than the illustrious jeweler and purveyor of magnificent timepieces, Cartier. The face of the clock, centered by a decorative engine-turned engraved metal design--also known as guilloche--has ornamental platinum hands accented with rose-cut diamonds and is encircled by a frame embellished with a white and blue enamel geometric pattern. The "canvas" for this spectacular timepiece is a gleaming, scalloped plaque of agate highlighted with four sapphire cabochons. It may not take the place of your alarm clock, but it is much prettier. By way of Paris - circa 1920s.Movement by E.W. & C. Co., Inc. - The European Watch & Clock Co. was formed in 1920 with Edward Jaeger (of Jaeger-Le Coultre) to produce watch movements exclusively for Cartier.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
