ABOUT THIS BROOCH

Where do we start. There seems to be no end to the fabulously imaginative designs created by Tiffany & Co. throughout the years. This striking brooch, presenting a luxurious spray of exquisitely crafted dimensional leaves fashioned from 18K twisted gold, is punctuated by five lustrous Japanese cold water coral cabochons. The coral--in a highly uniform and desirable oxblood color-- is exceptionally fine (in fact, as fine as they come) and lustrous. Can two different colors of red complement each other? Yes! Glowing cherry-red ruby cabochons are symmetrically arrayed--along with exceedingly clear, bright white round brilliant-cut diamonds--among the leaves, creating a glorious marriage of color, sparkle, and texture. And that's not all: Small beads of twisted gold add the finishing flourish to this spectacular jewel. Based on our vintage Tiffany & Co. "little blue catalog," we believe it hails from the 1960s. A true Tiffany treasure. Total diamond weight, 0.65 carat; total ruby weight, 1.80 carats.

About Mid-Century Jewelry

Mid-Century jewelers gave the Victorians a run for their money when it came to variety—with the added bonus of big, bold gems in every shape, size, and color. Themes of previous eras were made fabulous enough to match the optimism of the post-war world. Transitional pieces bridged the gap between the first and second half of the 20th century.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
